EPRA Energy is qualified by Smart Güneş Teknolojileri for grid code compliance analyses of 88 MWe PV Solar Power Plant project to be installed in Denizli Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (DESKİ). Modeling and analysis will be carried out with DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

We participated to Azerbaijan – Türkiye 3rd Energy Forum in Nakhchivan (28-29 Sep 2023)

We provided “Long-term Demand Projection Training” to Strategic Planning Team of GDZ DisCo on 19-20 September 2023 in Ankara. Scope of the training includes use of “Zonal S-Curve Calculation Tool” developed by EPRA to perform demand projection studies for power distribution grids and modelling of demand projections in DIgSILENT PowerFactory for grid planning analyses.

Design improvement and pilot implementation of protection coordination at Nesimi Region of Azerisiq Distribution Company have been completed satisfactoırily. Thanks to Azerisiq team for their valuable support during the workshops and field implementations at Baku.

Scope of the project includes modelling and analyses of 36 kV medium voltage (MV) cable faults at Datca – Mugla region of ADM DisCo. The region has been subjected to cable faults recently at different feeders (different locations) due to transient overvoltage in the grid which hosts distributed generators (wind turbines) at the MV level. Root cause of the problem will be analyzed through static, RMS, and EMT analyses with DigSilent PowerFactory.

Like many distribution companies (DisCo) in Türkiye, ARAS Power DisCo preffered DIgSILENT PowerFactory and EPRA for integrating its Geographic Information System (GIS) with power system simulation software. Python based algorithms developed by EPRA enables ARAS DisCo to report erros in GIS model (if any), transform the GIS model to DigSilent PowerFactory model ready for grid analysis.

Following up our previous study “Transport Sector Transformation: Integrating Electric Vehicles into Turkey’s Distribution Grids” in 2019, we are excited to start a new project with Shura Energy Transition Center; “Business Models, Regulatory Framework, and Implementation Roadmap for EV Smart Charging”.

The new study will investigate the degree of complementarity between variable renewable energy sources
and EVs, as well as the flexibility potential of smart EV charging and how this potential could benefit from the implementation of smart charging by 2035 and 2053. It will discuss how EVs’ potential for grid flexibility could evolve in both medium (2035) and long (2053) terms. It will also assess the suitability of different types of charging infrastructure and their locational optimization with a quantitative modelling for smart charging, elaborating EV market value chain and business models. The project will investigate the challenges and best practices, as well as current trends and future opportunities for EVs & charging infrastructure for further grid integration.

With the idea of introducing DIgSILENT PowerFactory program to Power Systems students at their universities, Amasya University’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is now among the universities that have DIgSILENT PowerFactory software…

The mission of EPRA Energy is to develop power engineering solutions and algorithms for reliable, sustainable, and affordable power systems with adding value to data through advanced modeling and analysis techniques.

In line with this mission, we are excited to start a new project; “Modelling & Analyses of Nahcivan Power Grid for Improving Renewable Integration and Export Capabilities” with Azerenerji OJSC.

We performed a workshop with Azerenerji OJSC, Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), Tetra Tech, and TAQA in Baku on July 25-28, 2023. Final findings of renewable integration studies by EPRA Energy and Tetra Tech are discussed for secure, reliable, and stable integration of renewable energy sources to Azerbaijan grid.
