NEWS

We are thrilled to announce our new project towards energy transition in Azerbaijan. Aligned with our mission, we will provide engineering solutions both at power plant level (i.e. local control) and AGC level (i.e. centralized control) for reliable, sustainable, and affordable transition of the Azerbaijan grid.

We provided DIgSILENT PowerFactory advanced user training to ARAS DisCO engineers on 14-15 December 2023.

Within the scope of the “Distribution Network Investment Optimization” project, we held a workshop at Gdz Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (DisCo) on 04-05 December 2023 regarding; 1) Econometric demand projection techniques and algorithms, 2) Regional demand development S-curves calculation techniques and algorithms, and 3) Modeling of the calculated regional demand projections in DIgSILENT PowerFactory for grid planning analyzes.

Tatlıpınar Enerji Üretim A.Ş. preferred EPRA Energy quality for the grid connection and compliance analysis of Tatlıpınar Hybrid Wind + Solar Power Plant.

Thanks to visit of colleagues from Lightsource bp to EPRA for discussing results of ongoing project studies as well as potential collaborations for contributing sustainable and affordable power systems worldwide.

Within the scope of the project, our “Distribution Network Investment Optimization” algorithms working integrated with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, which we have successfully developed as in the scope of the “Development of Metrics and Algorithms for the Optimization of HV Substation and MV Grid Investment Needs based on Capacity Increase” supported by EMRA of Türkiye, will be implemented to the GDZ Electricity Distribution Network.

These algorithms are;

  • DISCO / Province / District / HV Substation based econometric energy (MWh) and peak demand (MW) projection algorithms,
  • HV Substation based zonal s-curve demand (MW) projection algorithms,
  • Technical loss based optimum network investment algorithms,
  • Technical loss + SAIDI + SAIFI based optimal grid investment algorithms

We took part in the 12th Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TÜREK) with our stand.

We evaluated the modeling and simulation solutions we offer within the scope of grid connection and compatibility analyzes of wind and solar power plants and storage & hybrid renewable power plants with our stakeholders. The best news of the congress was that we were deemed worthy of the “Data Solutions Leader” award. We would like to thank the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TÜREB) for the organization and all the participants who visited us at our stand, which attracted great attention.

We performed FCR, AVR, and PSS tests successfully in Cenub Power Plant of Azerbaijan. Scope of the tests is to improve frequency and voltage regulation performance of the power plant, and thereby, to be ready for hosting large scale renewable power plants in Azerbaijan power grid.

A new project agreement is made with Çalık Enerji; “Grid impact analyses of Kiyanly NGCC Power Plant in Turkmenistan”. Scope of the project includes not only technical aspects of the power plant to the grid but also impact in terms of CO2 emissions by replacing the old power plants in the country.

Our report titled “Turkey’s Decarbonization Road Map – 3: Calendar of Transformation, Geographical Distribution and Effects on the Electricity Grid” was launched on 21 November 2023 at Mövenpick Hotel Ankara. The study is coordinated by Istanbul Policy Center and supported by the European Climate Foundation. The scenarios in the study are analyzed with market and network simulator algorithms developed by EPRA Energy.
