In the scope of the project, a national Dispatcher Training Simulator (YTES) will be developed in cooperation with Eltemtek. The YTES will include a real-time dynamic simulator in SCADA resolution and an operator interface. DIgSILENT PowerFactory will be the dynamic simulator engine.

In the scope of our idea of ​​introducing Power Systems students to DIgSILENT PowerFactory at the universities and supporting their education, Gazi University Faculty of Technology Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is now among the universities that have DIgSILENT PowerFactory software.

We performed a very productive workshop with Azerenerji OJSC, Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) and Tetra Tech in Baku on June 12-14, 2023. The initial findings of renewable integration studies by EPRA Energy and Tetra Tech are discussed and a road map is defined to continue addressing capacity limits of Azerbaijan grid for secure, reliable, and stable integration of renewable energy sources.

We conducted DIgSILENT PowerFactory user trainings to Toroslar DSO personnel on 12-14 June 2023. Thanks to Toroslar DSO for the kind hospitality.

We visited Fırat University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department on June 02, 2023 and made a demo of the advanced functions of DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Thanks to Fadıl Karamazı, Levent Levent, and Sait Aslan from Fırat Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. for the organization, and Department Head Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cebeci, Muhsin Tunay Gençoğlu and faculty members Mahmut Temel Özdemir, Ahmet Orhan, Merve Yıldırım, and all the participants for the warm hospitality.

Improving the stability of grids is critical for renewable energy targets. For this purpose in Azerbaijan, we held our first workshop at the Qobu Power Plant with the scope of improvements that can be made in the controllers of the power plant and evaluated our modeling & simulations based solutions from practical perspectives. 

We made a presentation “Integration of Electric Vehicles to the Network and Its Effects” at the “Electric Vehicles and Smart Cities Workshop” held by EMO Ankara Branch and Gazi University on May 31, 2023 at Gazi University Faculty of Technology. We would like to thank to Prof. Dr. Şeref Sağıroğlu, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Prof. Dr. Şevki Demirbaş, Prof. Dr. Erdal Irmak, and the organization team for their invitation.
