The consultancy work currently delivered by our R&D and Power Systems teams includes:

Steady state analysis i.e. load flow and fault level studies
Dynamic analysis i.e. frequency and voltage stability studies
Harmonic analysis including power quality and filter design studies
Grid code compliance reviews for generators, energy storage systems & loads
Wide area power systems analysis
Protection co-ordination studies

EPRA is working closely with all of the 21 distribution companies in Turkey in addition to government authorities and leading private sector companies in both Turkey and 13 different countries, as also international organizations.

We are looking for senior and junior (entry or developmental level) Electrical Engineers with experience in power systems to expand and reinforce our R&D and Power Systems teams. New colleagues will be based in Ankara and become key parts of our project teams, delivering a range of projects for our clients in both Turkey and abroad.

Senior and junior engineer roles will report to the R&D or Power Systems Director and be either leading or contributing to the team of engineers for power systems projects depending on their experience levels.

What are we looking for?

As a minimum all candidates must have the following:

Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering (higher degrees looked upon favorably)
Understanding of electrical engineering principles, specifically related to electricity generation, transmission and distribution system theory, analysis, and modeling
Knowledge of fundamental power systems analysis concepts – load flow, fault level, frequency/voltage stability
Basic engineering knowledge to perform the following studies, analyses, and research:
- Load Flow
- Short Circuit
- Transient Stability
- Voltage Stability
- Grid Code
- Reactive Compensation
- Insulation Coordination
- Earthing Studies
Interest in developing professional engineering work knowledge and the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles and techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks and R&D studies under the direction of a supervisor or work leader
Familiarity with coding and scripting (Algorithm design) through well-known languages, e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc., and power systems analysis programs, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, other programs i.e. PSSE, PSCAD
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in English effectively orally and in writing

The following experience is desirable for the senior engineer role:

Demonstrated expertise and/or relevant professional qualification in power system analysis in the generation, transmission, and/or distribution systems with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Experience in carrying out and leading technical studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis
Experience in power systems operation, energy market, and regulatory frameworks
Research publications or active participation in technical communities.
Experience or background in power systems analysis programs, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, other programs i.e. PSSE, PSCAD, and coding and scripting (Algorithm design) through well-known languages, e. g. MATLAB, Python, etc.
Capability to manage deliverables and schedules for client projects and studies
Ability to prepare, review and sign off detailed technical reports and develop and deliver presentations to clients
Knowledge of developing consulting proposals and their components
Experience in client-facing roles requiring well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers
Ability to support General Manager in business development activities by presenting EPRA capabilities to existing and prospective clients

Specific Requirements

Ability to travel and live in Ankara (Turkey). EPRA will sponsor employees for travel fees and work authorization in Turkey for this position and will provide assistance in finding reasonable accommodation in Ankara.
